‘Assassin’s Creed’ trailer: Valhalla, Vikings and everything we know about the game



“Assassin’s Creed” remains an Ubisoft game staple as it enters its third decade, and a trailer for a new title called “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla” will be released Thursday.

The company on Wednesday provided hints of what to expect from the trailer, publishing a teaser image of a Viking torso.

What is the name of the announced ‘Assassin’s Creed’ game?

The next edition of the game will be called “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.”

What does ‘Valhalla’ mean?

Valhalla is the mythological setting in which heroic Norse combatants are chosen to go following their deaths. It is considered heaven-like.

What is else is known about the game?

In addition to the name, which gives clues of its own about the game’s setting, the teaser image released Wednesday shows what appears to be a muscular, axe-wielding Viking warrior. There’s a raven flying in the upper left-hand corner of the picture and a split of a ship scene and a land battle.

We’ll learn much more about Ubisoft’s approach from the trailer.

What is the release date for ‘Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla’?

The release date is not yet known, but the trailer might provide a sense of when the game will come out. The last “Assassin’s Creed” game — “Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey” — hit stores in October 2018.
